The project
Replace two antiquated partially collapsed buildings with the largest storage building practical. Undercover loading areas were desired. The operational grain storage site must remain operational throughout the project.

The project
Construct a transit storage building for fast loading of grain ships coming into Portland. Storage capacity of at least 15,000T. Ease of out-loading to reduce truck turnarounds.

The project
Versatility was the main objective of this new build. The client required a large bulk storage building that had flexibility around storage options and loading methods. The short-term storage meant the client preferred a roof-only structure.
What we delivered
- 15,000T multipurpose roof only structure
- Overhangs to minimize weather ingress
- 2.5 cantilevered canopy to both long sides
- 2.5 gable overhang on both 36m ends including canopy
