Storage and planning considerations discussed.

There are many configurations for gain and fertiliser sheds, depending on the size of your operation. Grain sheds are designed and engineered specifically to the holding capacity of the product or material being stored. Planning should be strategic to allow for possible expansion of facilities which may be required in the future. Some of the planning considerations we discuss with you are:

  • Type of product that needs to be stored
  • In-load and out-load considerations
  • Longevity or length of time of storage
  • Configurations – open front / concrete panel walls
  • Segregation walls and options requirement
  • Loading and unloading facilities and logistics
  • Roof pitch for optimal volume of storage
  • Added features for weather protection
  • Ventilation requirements

Standardised features.

Careful planning of standard and custom features should be considered to ensure full protection of materials stored to ensure that your product is free from contamination and infestation of pests and rodents.

  • Engineered specifically for maximum product storage capacity
  • Concrete panels for enhanced protection and strength/ extra reinforcement
  • Heavy-duty steel flashings to minimise
  • High-capacity gutters for rainwater catchment harvesting and runoff
  • Roof pitch designs for maximum holding capacity
  • Maximum loading and unloading for easy accessibility
  • Internal walls & compartment bunkers for product separation
  • Sliding door outriggers for wider openings
  • Appropriate loading & out-loading openings and stack heights

Store your grain & produce in purpose-built storage sheds, custom designed for bulk storage.

Our South Australian farmers continue to benefit from our custom-designed quality grain sheds, built with superior structural integrity to last for generations to come.

Resources to guide you along the way.

To get the most out of your grain shed use our calculators and resources to refine your ideas. Our building consultants will help you with optional features that can make you grain shed more functional.

Frequently asked questions.

Any questions you may have our building consultants will be more than happy to assist you.

We always recommend avoiding positioning your grain shed near hay sheds or trees where hay is stored. These environments can be a haven for birds, pests and rodents.

Many of our customers when not storing grain in the summer months, they use their grain shed for storing machinery or fertiliser.

The size of your grain shed, is dependent on the size of your grain processing operation, and how much grain you will need to store. We have built grain shed sizes from 500m2 to over 3000m2.

Planning should be strategic to allow for possible expansion of facilities.

When you book in for a discovery meeting we will discuss with you important aspects such as:

  • Purpose of build, lifespan of the building and your end goal
  • Product to be stored
  • Insulation/ventilation
  • Clearance heights & centre columns (trucks tipping & stack heights)
  • Bunkers and separation bays
