Since its modest inception in 1975, the spanlift brand has established an esteemed status for its commitment to enhancing efficiencies and ensuring superior structural integrity. We aspire to be the preferred brand for our customers, fostering strong relationships and collaborating closely with them in their journey.

Years in the making

Spanlift’s proud history.

Grace Weld Industries is established. Manufacturing small products such as shopping trolleys and bakery racks.

1975

The company soon develops into Steelware Products. Expanding manufacturing to include truck trays and structural steel frames.

1980

Buying & selling fabrication and metal working machinery (ie drills, lathes, welders etc).

1990

Recognising the agricultural market as an opportunity for growth, the business relocates from Adelaide to Mt Gambier with strong focus on de-centralisation.

1992

Following changes within the family, the machinery business is sold. Renewed efforts are concentrated into steel fabrication, with a particular focus on structural steel sheds.

2005

After pioneering structural steel sheds with a completely hot dip galvanised frame, the company was rebranded as Spanlift Buildings.

2007

Due to the many industries that were being serviced and in an effort to bring clarity, each section of the business was given a brand, becoming a "House of Brands" sitting under the "Spanlift Buildings Group".

2010

A board of directors is formed. Spanlift Australia is branded, bringing everything together with expert guidance from the board.

2014

In early 2018 the admin team re-locates to Adelaide. Resulting in increased manufacturing capacity and further team expansion.

2018

ISO Certification
(International Organisation for Standardisation) is awarded for Quality Management 9001; Environmental Management 14001 & OHS Management 45001.

2024

Manufactured for Australian conditions. Designed for international excellence.

Here at Spanlift, our team has been setting the benchmark for structural steel sheds and buildings across Australia since 2005. We don’t just manufacture any old shed. Spanlift Sheds are manufactured in Australia from heavy structural steel that is then fully hot dip galvanised. The end result – a beautiful, quality, long lasting structure.

When you deal with Spanlift, you don’t just get a shed either. Our Spanlift Customer Care culture gives you access to all of our in-house design, fabrication and installation capabilities. We are here to guide you and help you right through the shed buying process to ensure you end up with the right shed for your needs. Not only that, we make sure it is installed the right way – so all round you end up with the best shed in the neighbourhood!
